Even though I just registered, I have known GP for a long time and she can vouch for me.

Friends of mine in KY are helping with an abuse/neglect case...

They are part of a wonderful organization called SpeakUp For Horses [www.speakupforhorses.org]
Since they do not own a farm to house rescues, they work at educating law enforcement, training troopers and ACOs at recognizing abuse/neglect and work with county/state attorneys who prosecute the abusers. It is starting to pay off as, in this case, the ACO called them for help/advice/way to proceed.

[speakupforhorses.blogspot.com]

In the above case, horses have now died and authorities are in the process of seizing the remaining horses (45) on the property and having other rescues look after them. They have discovered that one mare came from Ontario
[www.abcglobalshopper.com]

They are trying to get an email address or a phone number to contact the seller, hoping to ID this mare in the herd.

Does anyone know the name Lori Turk? Does anyone have access AQHA files to confirm the previous owner's name?

Unfortunately, Kentucky is NOT only Rolex, Lexington, Versailles, the big beautiful farms. Kentucky is also one of the worst states in animal cruelty laws and their enforcement.

Thank you.

I'm interested to find out about this... only because the name sounds familiar to me too, but I'm not sure if I actually know it or if I've just confused her name with someone I actually know. :embarrassed: I suck at remembering names!

Yes I posted it on EMG, no reply.
SU is working with AC and they are trying to ID horses when they are able to seize them on location. They cannot move 45 horses and are trying to get an order to seize them and not move them. It has been done in other counties and the county attorney is young and new and trying his best to find legislation to apply.
Thanks for any help.

I guess to confirm any contact for Lori Turk and that she did indeed sell the mare "Don't mess with me" to Glenda A. Wright. Ownership transfer? maybe Glenda already sold that mare?
I do not know what information AQHA provides, but anything that would make the mare easy to ID when the time comes.
Thanks

AQHA records do indeed provide an "ownership record" if the transfer information is filed with them. It merely indicates transfer of the registration...**not bill of sale**. So in a nutshell, if the transfer information is not there it does not mean that the mare was not legally sold. It means that transfer process was not followed.

The ownership records should provide city of residence where the each owner lives, not contact info. Therefore, contact info would not be available to any search.

Actual markings are pictorially provided on the papers that are held by the "owner". Believe the most current papers now have photo ID.

Okay...I will look up that information see what I can find out.

Stay tuned.

False Impression...you have hit a blind ally.

First of all, there is no horse registered with AQHA by the name Don't Mess with Me.

There is a horse by that name that does not spell it the same way (I tried several variations on the name). She is a 1985 gray mare whose ownership record does reflect the names of any of the people that you have mentioned. She lives in Nebraska.

Sorry that could not have been of more help.

It can mean a number of things, so I would not read that much into what I found. It could be the horse that you are looking for, but she was never registered with AQHA. It could mean that the name you are looking under is barn name, or someone is calling her something different to hide her identity, or that her name has some bizarre spelling that I did not think of.

Anyway, if you need anything else that I can check in the AQHA records let me know. I just had a thought...and maybe for future reference, if you can get a positive hit on a record for an AQHA-registered horse, you can get the registration number....which means AQHA would have the records that physically would identify the horse. Of course, you would have to work with AQHA on that.

Best of luck

I think the rescuers, and caregivers have to accertain if they have a red dun? mare in the group.
Maybe take pictures of the possible canidates.

I think Lori Turk will have pictures of her before she was sold., maybe she can compare.

What a tragic situation. :(

Just heard back from Lori T, she has been in contact wih Paulette W. from the rescue, and has sent her pictures, in hopes that MC Don't Mess with Me, is still alive,

Lori has also indicated that, if she is alive, as soon as she is travel ready, she wants her backs in Canada, at her place. The Mare's name is XENA

So jingles everyone, that Xena is not one of the terribly emaciated or dead ones.........such a shame.

Good work F.I. for posting on the board, so that we could contact Lori T and get the ball rolling. :)

I was gone all day... thank you very much for all the info! Paulette has confirmed that she was in contact with Lori and has received the pictures. Lori also has pictures of the mare taken by Glenda last year.

Anyway, two members of the rescue (including Paulette) visited the sanctuary (paradise) next door to the farm. There is a vet at the sanctuary who has been feeding the horses for the last 6 weeks. He has pictures from when they started helping the mares. They do look better now than they did. The farm is a beautiful farm, but the owner sounds kind of psycho... She videotapes the vet feeding the horses, unlocks the gate for him to go in and help...

Thank you again (esp. Maureen and Inhert) for helping to locate Lori and getting her in touch with the rescue. I will keep you posted if and when "things" happen.

I will see what is available from AQHA.

As to whether or not she is alive, Maureen, she is **not** registered as deceased with AQHA.

Of course again, any death would have to be provided to AQHA...and then again they have this funky process whereby any horse over 25 is automatically marked deceased unless the owner tells them otherwise.

But that is another issue and annoys alot of people ;)

None of these horses are marked as deceased.

Thank you.
SU does not know which horses are alive or not. They have not got access to the horses yet. They are waiting for the County Attorney to make the case for seizure on the property. The horses look much better now that the neighbour vet has been feeding them (for the last 6 weeks) but he does have pictures from that time too. The horses looked really bad then. I know that SU has secured a grant from the ASPCA for hay for the ACO if and when they seize the horses. In the meantime, the private wildlife sanctuary next door and vet are supplying the hay.
Thank you for all your help. I will keep you informed when things progress.

FI...do you have any insights as to what the process is once the horses are seized by the County Attorney?? In other words, what happens to them and how would an individual lay claim to any horse in the seized herd that he or she may have once owned?

The only reason that I am asking that is because it may...or may not...make things difficult for the original owner to bring the horse (and her foal) home to Ontario. It also makes it difficult when you are dealing with the laws between two countries.

Reply by FalseImpression

April 5, 2009 11:30AM

I am not sure of the process itself and I think it varies by county. I think in another case, once the owners had been convicted, it was possible to adopt the horses to good homes. I have asked one member of the rescue to come and explain the process. I know she is busy between work, her own horses and the cases that keep popping up. The great news is that the Speak Up program of educating law enforcement is starting to pay off!!

April 5, 2009 11:53AM

Thanks FI.

I guess to a certain extent this is a wait and see situation.

However, I think that in order to cross the border, the ownership on the horse has to be clear. I personally am not clear on those rules...I know that AQHA has been a driver for this as several people that I know who show AQHA across the border have to have a pile of documents in order to cross.

Anyway...something to consider...hopefully when the mare and her foal are recovered...ALIVE.

Thanks for you advocacy in this situation. And best of luck.

I thought that they had already been seized, that would make feeding, etc, so much easier.
Many counties in the states , have a thing where the horses must go to the closest auction.
Others have an auction right at the seizure place, or where ever they are rehomed to.
Some wait, until conviction.

It might be best if Lori went to kentucky and "bought back" the mare.....nominal fee, then she would have ownership, and get the paperwok etc done, just a thought, as getting the paperwork likely is a time consuming affair, and if she is emaciated , a vet would not authorize travel,

A stallion running loose with a herd of mares just how frickin lovely is that........not enough food, and we will just breed some more........grrr.:(

Hi all,

I am Annie with SpeakUpForHorses.

I would like to thank FI and everyone on this board for researching Lori T's information.

The horses at Glenda's are on 150 acres and since we could only take pictures from the road yesterday, it would have been difficult to identify them.
Glenda eveidently also moves horses around and keeps some in the barn at all times.

The vet from the sanctuary has taken fantastic care of the horses and they look really good considering the conditions they were in, when charges were filed.

This particular case will most likely be difficult, as Glenda does not want to relinquish the horses and has opted for a jury trial which is scheduled for May.

We have been working with the Animal Control Officer, who is a fantastic person. He is running into problems in regards to being able to get a court order to seize the horses though. The County Attorney initially was in favor of seizure, however he has changed his mind since, most likely due to fear of the County's responsibility of having to financially care for the animals.

While we were able to get a grant to cover the cost of feed for the next two months, cases like this can drag out forever.

You can review the KY animal cruelty statutes on our blog which was linked in an earlier post.

Annie

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.

If the horses are seized at some point, we would definitely let the County Attorney know that we have found the prior owner of MC Don't Mess With Me has shown interest in having her returned to her.

Unfortunately until such seizure, Glenda is still the one to make decisions on each horse.

We have a law in KY that would allow a seizure on the owner's property with a court order restricting the owner from having any contact with the animals. We will continue to suggest this as the best option for all parties involved.

Hopefully we will get an opportunity to return to look at the horses again close up to look for Lori's mare and her filly.

At this point in time, as I understand it, Speak Up For Horses has not been on the property.
Glenda Wright is only allowing the sheriff and the vet that feeds them on the property and she video's the vet the whole time???

Something not right with this........the DA is afraid (ball-less) and isn't going for seizure in case the county gets stuck caring for the horses.
As this has been going on for a few weeks, the horses, being cared for by a vet and fed are looking better. Glenda Wright has a trial/hearing on the 10th of may. My gut feeling on this, is she is going to get away with the abuse.neglect.starvation, especially with the horses still alive.
The nine dead ones found on the property might pose a problem, but with a ball-less DA, I would say this isn't looking good.

In the mean time, the old owner Lori Turk, still doesn't know if her mare is alive or dead. :(

That's about it. Unfortunately, you just can't go and do as you please. How many times does the same scenario happen here or anywhere else?
She is being monitored, the horses are being fed. Her property is locked and she unlocks when the vet calls her that he is coming with feed.
I always figured that "county attorneys" worked for the county first... not for the people or animals.
SU has had to deal with ball-less attorneys before and good ol' boys clubs... and won.
And unfortunately, she is only one of many many cases in wonderful "horse friendly Kentucky".. sigh!

Hello Everyone!

This is Lori Turk...and as you can see...I've read all the posts on this topic and have been working with Paulette to get my mare MC Dont Mess With Me or "Xena", back home so I can start her rehabilitation...

I first off, want to thank EVERYONE so much for searching for me and letting me know about this...again...see, last year around this time I was contacted by email (not sure if it was someone here or not) and I actually tracked down the sheriff in Breckenridge County and made him go check on Xena...everything was "supposedly" okay and Glenda had gotten an "all clear" from the SPCA down in KY...and now, once again, here we are...

I'm lending my help to you folks if you need anything at all to do with AQHA...I have been a member for years and years and know all the in's and out's...I was also reading where you guys weren't sure about the border...well I live 15 mins from the border and have access to the federal vet at all times...plus, I was talking to my vet about this situation...long story short, crossing Xena will probably not be as difficult as people might think...basically, if she has her health and coggins papers and WHEN (like my optimism???) the judge seizes these horses, if I could get a written statement from him (the best) or the vet looking after them, saying that this is a rescue horse returning home...then there won't be much trouble...horses coming into Canada do NOT need to see a federal vet (but they do going in to the US) so she can be brought back ANYTIME...not just during the week on business hours...

I'm sure there's more that I need to address after reading these posts...but it seems to be slipping my memory right now...sorry...I'm actually pressed for time as I'm playing hooky from work on this cold, rainy day...lol...but if you guys have ANY questions what-so-ever...feel free to email me...if I can be of ANY help...Maureen and Paulette already have my email address...but if someone can help me to get Xena back in my care, I'll help all I can...

I want to thank everyone once again, if it wasn't for a friend of mine emailing me after she seen one of the posts looking for me somewhere, then you guys probably would have had a hard time finding me as I've moved to a different town and such since Xena was bred...but anyways, glad you found me...I'm here to help, not only to get Xena back, but to help people like you guys fighting against people like Glenda Wright..."Field Of Dreams Ranch"??????...NOT what I would call it...but I don't want to be kicked off for my 1st posting on here...lol

Thanx,
Lori

Welcome Lori, we have been in contact.
I think when I contacted you, it was already posted on EMG, which is how you heard from your friend (maybe).

If the judge orders seizure, or by some miracle Glenda turns over the horses to the county, we will be able to get her somewhere quickley within the state, and do the 30 day QT if that is required.
If she is turned over or seized, you as the breeder will only have to show previous ownership, (before glenda) and as the breeder you are OK there. Then it will be a matter of transport back to Canada.:)

Hopefully this works out for the best interests of the mare and you.

PS, it takes alot to get kicked off this board, usually Giant Pony, the owner and moderator, just deletes our stuff, hehehe personal experience there hehehehe

Update:

Glenda's jury trial took place on 05/08/2009 in Breckenridge County.

She was found guilty on all 17 counts of animal cruelty and 1 count of improper disposal.

She was sentenced to one year on each count, however they must run concurrently for a total of 12 months.

We need to wait and see what will be done about the horses next. They are still in her possession. People are working on ideas of how to get her to relinquish ownership.

I was wondering about the horses this weekend. Depending on the terms of her bail/probation, she might only be allowed to have a certain number, or keep up certain standards, and might have to allow the sheriff or humane society on her place without notice.
Looking into that might give you ideas on the next step.

If the horses are seized by the sheriff (county), is that county mandated to send them to auction??? Some in the states are. Other places you pay the seizure boarding fee and then take the horse.
Find out what they do and go from there.

okay...so here's another update...a couple weeks ago, Glenda was paroled on what's called "shock probation" (for anyone who doesn't know what that is, it's when a first time offender is so "shocked" by being in jail, they get out with the expectations that they'll stop their criminal ways) and was ordered to disperse all the horses (at her discretion) but was allowed to keep 5 mares or geldings (from my source, there are no geldings, they said that every male horse there was intact) and was not allowed to breed anything for 2 years...

so does anyone else think that she's going to give it to every Tom, Dick and Harry that she knows so she can get them back later?...that's what me and my peeps are all thinking...PLUS the fact that she's going to fight this every step of the way...I've even called her cell phone (my source had it) and left her a message that I'd BUY Xena back...no word..she has until July 16th the disperse of these horses and my source says that on that day, they are going to go by there and if there's more then 5 horses, they are going to raise hell...

I'm still fighting and doing what I can (legally) to get Xena back...I haven't given up...OH, and just for a tidbit, my source told me that within the last few weeks, Xena was attacked by a stallion that took chunks out of her neck...they had no way to separate them from the 12 mature stallions that all run together there with the mares, let alone all the younger stallions coming of age...I have someone ready to drive there to get her at the drop of the hat...and somewhere for her to stay until I get paperwork done on her to get her across the border...but Glenda's not giving them up...not without a HUGE fight...if anyone's got any idea's on this, let me know...but otherwise, I'll take kind, hopeful words and happy thoughts sent our way for Xena's safe return home

Maybe we should just go and steal her.........maybe not.

What about your friend going down and offering $$$ for her, assuming of course that Glenda doesn't know your friend. Maybe your source could lend a trailer so the plates are american, Canadian plates would be a dead give away.

BTW, was Xena treated by a vet do youknow??? In some places, withholding a vet can get the owner in trouble, and the horse removed form the premises.

Let me know if I can help.
Hope she is OK.

I applaud you for being so tenacious. For the life of me, given this 'convict's reputation, I can't understand why you aren't getting more help to secure your horse. It boggles the mind.(sort of)
It is not like you aren't willing to pay, you aren't asking for a gift, you are not demanding stolen property returned...

I surely hope Xena finds her way back to you.

I know EXACTLY what all of you guys are talking about...since my last post, I have read all the threads and everything you've said, I have thought of...Maureen, they will be american plates and it is a hideway in Michigan I have until I can get the proper paperwork done if need be...I've ALSO thought about doing a "midnight run" and getting Xena back, but second thought about it...no use giving them ANYTHING to use against me...I've thought of it all...I'm just going to wait until the 16th (of course still keeping in touch with my contacts) and see what happens...if she hasn't abided by the court order by the 16th (getting rid of all but 5 mares or geldings) I've been told she goes back to jail...

I have everything set up as soon as I get the go ahead...I've got an american trailer ready, an american barn ready, just until I get the paperwork done to get her back across the border...

Falseimpression, you are right about the vet...he was only allowed to feed her...he told me so pretty horrific stories about that place...he's just as pissed off as the rest of us...and yes, I thought about the "reverse effect" thing too...she'd do it just to spite me...and nutter is putting it lightly...

everyone keep good thoughts coming our way...I'm not giving up without a fight that's for sure!!! :)

well...we may be 1 small step closer to getting Xena back...here's what I've been told...

Glenda had a hearing on the 14th (probably her lawyer asking for more time as her 30 days was up the 16th), and apparently she smarted off to the judge...so he revoked her probation and sent her back to jail which made all previous deals null and void...as of right now, I still don't know what's going to happen to the horses, but I was told that POSSIBLY, if this sort of thing should happen, they would FINALLY get seized by the county or sheriff or someone, and they would be dispersed of...now I've been in touch with the people directly involved with this case and they all know I want Xena back...so this is a small step...

oh, btw, this person said they drove past her farm today...and there was WAY more then the 5 horses left that she was supposed to be down to by now...

keep those fingers and toes crossed! ;)

I'm hoping the same thing...she doesn't have the rep for keeping a level head (obviously)...will keep you updated as I get more info...and I'm not 100% sure Xena is still there...but I doubt, knowing G, that she got rid of ANY horses...who's going to buy something that hasn't seen a farrier in like 7 years, had a "special needs" foot to begin with, is emaciated and has fur and skin missing on her body...doubt anyone would pick HER out of 60 odd horses...but that IS my luck...but as far as I know, she's still there

Xena's baby?...dead...the vet who was looking after the horses while G was in jail the 1st time said he went out there while she was delivering and she was having trouble...so he helped her, the foal was stillborn, VERY large he said, but then Xena was touch and go for like 3 days...but she got through it...then I heard a stud took a huge chunk out of her neck a few weeks later...not sure what that looks like...I just hope her spirit isn't broken...I know her body is, but I can fix that...I just remember this mare was so full of life and LOVED to get into everything...she was so curious about everything and was the prettiest thing to look at...I just hope it's not too late for her mind...I'll fight to the end for Xena...I bred, raised and watched this mare take her first steps in life...I had her until she was a 4-yr-old...I refuse to give up without a fight...I will get Xena back, one way or another, or go down fighting...I won't give up on this...makes me so angry that this is taking so long and what she's had to go through...

I am glad to know the vet was still allowed to go in. Was he allowed to treat any injury? Sorry about the baby, but maybe this is for the best. Xena has a lot to overcome on her own and may not have been able to protect and nurture that foal. Hopefully, the county will find the $$$ to seize the animals, but right now I guess no "officials" want to invest the time and money. And, if they do seize them, Xena may be the luckiest of them all. So sad. Jingling all the way for this herd.

thank you so much guys...yes QH's are pretty tough...and Xena was among the toughest I came across when I had her...if she makes it home, she'll be safe for the rest of her life...

I know it's what's best for Xena losing that baby...think of the slow painful death it might have endured had a stud gotten ahold of it because Xena is too weak to move and protect it...I was hoping that her body wouldn't allow to get rebred, but the vet said he's pretty sure she is...goody...

the vet was not allowed to treat any injury...nice huh?...not to Xena or to any horse...

I am in the process of trying to get in touch with the county attorney so I can try to find out what's being done with the horses...of course it's Saturday night and he himself does not have a voicemail box (possibly working under someone who does??? but I'm not sure who)...I'm going to try to email him as I work through the weekday and not sure if I'll get a chance to call from work...but I will make a point of getting in touch with this gentleman...

Thank you again everyone...WHEN Xena gets home (I WILL find a way) I'll keep everyone updated and send progressing pics of her rehabilitation...I will get the "happy pony" look from her again...she won't be going anywhere, EVER again...

Back to the baby...QHcuttingirl as I remember doing the research and I am re-posting just so that that baby does not fall through the cracks.

Xena has one foal registered with AQHA in 2006, so this would not be stillborn as she has been registered...right???

I have it!!! She has one foal. ONLY ONE.

KYS PRINCESS JEWELS 5009070 Sorrel Mare 06/18/2006

oh...I thought you just meant this year's baby...this year's baby died...yes she does have 1 registered foal...but she's had more then that because BEFORE all this started, Glenda sent me pics of at least 3 different foals of Xena's...so she's got more out there then 1, just not registered...

sorry...I thought you were just talking about this year's foal...she probably couldn't register the rest because she doesn't know who the sires are!!!!...and I KNOW she won't spend the money to get them DNA tested...so that's probably why she only registered the 1...

when I talked to the county attorney...he gave me the phone number to the detention center she's at, so I called there and (obviously) I'm not allowed to call her, but they have phones in their cells and she could call me...the girl said I could write a letter and if G wanted to call me she could...I HIGHLY doubt she's going to call me back because when she was out on probation I called and left a detailed message on how I wanted to buy her back and I never heard from her...she's not going to sell her back to me and now I'm worried (being in the mental state she is in) that she's not EVER going to sell her to ANYONE, just to spite me...

and yes, the "justice" system sucks EVERYWHERE!...the people I'm in contact with down in KY said they were going to try to make it down there sometime soon for a "drive-by-viewing" of the horses and see what kind of shape they're in...

yes it WAS torture sitting back and waiting...now it's torture again sitting by and able to do nothing...G WILL screw up again, but like Maureen, it will be at the cost of the horses...like I said, better not be Xena...or I'll be having to quit my job to go down to KY and campaign for better laws and talk to all these people...make them realize how THEY had the power to do something about it and they did NOTHING...stupid <so called> justice system

Yes, she will screw up again, but I am afraid that Xena is also marked as a prize possession. She knows you know, she knows you want her... so I have a new question...I just sold a horse to the state of Oregon...all this business with Xena has made me leary (they SEEM nice and good people...but so did G when I sold Xena to her)...so does anyone know if I can contact the Oregon SPCA or any organization down there, just to see if these people have a "record"????...or can someone point me in the right direction for someone that way?

qhcuttingirl,

What an exasperating journey this has been for you. I think it is important for those of us on the outside looking in to encourage you in your fight for Zena. (speaking only for myself here)

The justice system really seems to have failed miserably, with respect to the jailed/charged woman." Something is definately rotten in Denmark".

I find that I get discouraged and tend to give up because 'the system failed me' and there is nowhere to turn. I hope that you don't do that. The bottom line is that you can live with yourself because you didn't give in, and you continued to fight for Zena, and the Right Thing.

Keep fighting the good fight,

So sorry Lori!
It is KY remember... KY can be the land of the horses, but it is also either red neck country or old boys' club... It is really sad that, as a state which presents itself as the Horse Capital of the World, will host the WEG in 2010, ot can condone such abuse, neglect and incompetent officials and have such poor animal protection laws.
I really hope G will totally screw up and you, the vets and rescues will be the big infected thorn in the judge's and attorney's sides. not sure what chance the other horses will have...I have asked if any others have come forward to claim previously owned horses...they said 1 other contacted them once, way back in like April/May, and that was it...I'm the only 1 still fighting...I just can't live with the guilt I'd feel if I did nothing...I watched Xena be born, take her 1st steps...I was the 1 she trusted...and I went and sold her to what I thought was a "loving" home...I couldn't live with that............ :(

so a deputy went out to G's farm on the 17th and found that none of the horses were gone...she told him that she has leased the farm to someone out of state and has sold all the horses to this person (ya right)...this is of course NOT what the court ordered her to do, so the deputy has requested a court order so that he can take them...

STAY TUNED!!!
(I'm seriously doing that psycho laugh right now because this has gotten/has been so ridiculous that this is going to put me in the nut house...I'll be able to have a good story for all my "friends" in my head I guess while I rock back and forth in my "I LOVE ME" jacket...good times...can't wait) :scared: :scared:

If it wasn't for you following through with their request, I would've been a hard customer to find maybe...we've moved since I registered Xena, so there'd be a different address for me listed with AQHA as to where I am now...I have an unlisted phone number...but I guess word of mouth in the horse world is just as good and you probably would've found me later thou, rather then sooner...but thanx to all...I don't want to name names because I KNOW I'll leave someone out...but I do have to send a thank you out to not only FI but to Maureen as well...she helped to educate me on these situations as I'd never been involved with anything like this before...so thank you Maureen...I'm sure more names will come to me when I come down from my "emotional high" from the news of Xena!

Let's hope they CAN get the hay grant as well...I know Annie said they are working on another case at the moment that ALSO has like 50 horses to get seized...that's around 100 mouths with just 2 cases...let's hope they can get that hay grant...

well...good night everyone...starting to get sleepy from all this excitement!...

qhcuttingirl, still thinking of you and jingling! Unfortunately, it was too late for Rico in GA when they found him today. So sad!

stonehedge...have to wait until next week...have to call the sheriff if he hasn't already contacted me by then to see if he got the court order or not...if he does, yes she's coming home...until then...I'm sitting here waiting to hear from him...

FalseImpression...poor Rico...I take it he didn't fair too well...so sad to hear...

thanx to all again for all the great thoughts, jingles, prayers or whatever...they do help... :)

haven't been able to catch up with the sheriff at this point but I was told he's working tomorrow and I'm going to try to catch up with him then...I've also heard that G has a trial date next week...that's all I've heard

WE MAY HAVE OUR LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL!!!!

I got a call from the sheriff today (message on my machine since I was at work)...and it sounds as if he's REAL confident that he's going to get the court order to seize and remove the horses...now, G has a trial date on October 13th, which according to him, is just so he can get the "blessing" from the judge to go ahead and start removing horses rather than just going ahead and doing it because she didn't comply...soooooooo, Xena could be leaving "Field of Horrors Farm" as early as the 13th! (it would've been ironic if that was a friday)...so everyone, please, just one last time...keep your fingers, toes, tongues and any other appendages that you've got, crossed and hope that THIS judge delivers the verdict that should have been brought upon G sooooo long ago...

will keep you's updated on Xena's journey

oh Lori, I am so hoping this is IT! I would be so happy for you and Xena.
All my appendages are once again crossed, sending good vibes and good thoughts for you, for Xena and for all the other horses as well. May all of them have soft stalls to sleep in and full bellies soon.

Although I haven't been posting much, I've been closely following this thread. I have my fingers, toes, legs, arms, and eyes crossed! ;) This sheriff is a hero - thank goodness for people like him AND everyone else involved who didn't give up. October 13 is my lucky day (I won money playing roulette in Vegas on Friday, October 13 ;) ) so I'll be sending all my positive, lucky vibes to Xena and all the other poor souls waiting to be saved.

thanx guys...so far it's looking good...hopefully I will know more when I talk to the sheriff again...everything and everyone is in place for a "quick pickup" and soon (hopefully) Xena will be home safe and sound...I wish I had enough room for all of them, I'd take them all in...but unfortunately I can't...I just hope that they find good homes as well...FalseImpression...you said it right..."May all of them have soft stalls to sleep in and full bellies soon"...perfect saying......... :)

there is LOTS to update...quite abit has happened in the last few days, but unfortunately I can't write anything right now...maybe tomorrow...G has a court date today and this is the day that the sheriff is hoping to get the court order signed to seize the horses...that's all I can say today...so hopefully tomorrow I can catch everyone up (you won't believe what she had the balls to do) and I'm also hoping I'll be saying "XENA'S COMING HOME!!!" ;) :)

bad news...had a message on my machine from the sheriff down there...said that G was in court today, but she had filed a complaint against the lawyer that represented her and she was appointed a new one...he in turn objected to today's hearing because he had not had time to go over the case and all the evidence, so the judge continued the case until October 27th...I am soooo discouraged right now...I just can't understand why these judges keep putting this off...do they not see the dead animals????...pretty pi**ed off right now......

oh !#@#$$# s---t
She really knows all the tricks in the book! I am really sorry!
KY... sometimes I wish when they make their presentations about WEG, that somehow an error would occur and a video of the neglect cases that are not dealt with appropriately would show!!! So nice to show the world the Lexington area, but the rest of KY stinks!
I am sorry, hang in there!
