Good day all, hope you are enjoying the sunshine today.
I was just wondering if any of you currently have or have had a trailer with a front ramp on it?
For Christmas (and my upcoming birthday) I asked for my horse trailer to get a 'facelift and renewal'. It is a 2 horse XL bumper pull with tack room in the front, step load rear.
I asked hubby to turn my passenger side mandoor into a loading ramp instead and steal space from the tackroom. Only problem is the widest possible for the ramp is 4'-ish without affecting the structural members and currently 6' high is the max IF we can customize the roofline (5'5" if we can't). I'm concerned that isn't big enough or tall enough for most horses, especially my draft crosses who are 16hh. I know the horses look down when going down the ramp, but not all, some are resistant and go head high. The trailer itself has a good 7' headroom and seems comfy for my guys, and the step at the back isn't that high, I just like the idea of the front ramp for difficult or new loaders, especially when I'm dealing with new or unknow horses.
any input/insight/pictures of what you have or had would be appreciated - I need to make my decision to have it that way or 'leave it for the next one' ASAP - like in the next day or so.
thanks in advance
LL
