Hey everyone... haven't posted in a LONG time... I'm in the Waterloo area.. thinking of hitting OLEX tomorrow. Is anyone going? What time is good to go?

Horses start at 11:30 preceded by a cheesy tack sale, IIRC.
I'm not going. No room here. :(

Are you looking to buy something?

Wick! Nice to see you post again! I've been wondering what you're up to!

Are you in Waterloo permanently or temporarily? (Email me if you'd rather ;) )

Wish I was in town and could meet up at OLEX.... as Gruff said, the horses usually start 11:30 - noon, depending, but I always used to like to go earlier than that and walk around the pen areas for a closer view. (I never bothered with the "tack" sale, it always seemed like a junk sale, mostly, but what do I know!) :)

Good luck if you go, let us know what you see and BUY! ;)

Do we still have the llama/alpaca sanctuary thing going? Specifically, is there still someone in the London area that has room for them if someone happens to see one at OLEX, buy it and trailer/minivan it? 'Cuz I'm still game for that sort of thing.

I thought I was going, until I realised the schedule in my head was totally off from my 'real' schedule, argh!

I was there today... the hubby had never been so he thought he should go to check it out.

That said I am not bringing him with me again. Ugh. Holy annoying batman.

*snork* Too funny Saving Grace! I took my hubby *once*, he's not very horsey, but he was amused enough by all the strange looking people... that did, however, wear my patience a little thin, but heck, I didn't start out overly patient ;)

What were prices like?

Prices were the usual Terrible... some nice prospects went through actually...

yeah, we had the Wee Man with us (of course!) and he was a little squirmy... big deal. He got all pissy about it, then was like "you aren't BIDDING on any are you?? Why would you want another horse?" etc etc.... all in all acting like I was a 3 year old who needed to be slapped down. I was LESS than impressed as I have been doing this for over 10 years. He had no patience with the whole thing... and it was HIS idea to go!!

Yep GP.... my trips to OLEX will now be utterly solo for sure! ;) He can throw hay around here, but other than that, his "input" is now vetoed. ;)

Sounds like you had 2 children with you today ;) Sorry it was unpleasant (more than usual! ;) )

Solo is good, or other like minded people works out ok too. :)
