I think he's pretty adorable [ottawa.kijiji.ca]# though I DO wonder what is up with his back in the 2nd pic... is it just an unfortunate angle or what?!

From the description it sounds like he'd be pretty immune to scary noises! :)

Ah to dream that I would be horse shopping.

I have no plans to go see him or anything... just came across the ad during my self torture ad browsing ;) I think he has a cute face!

Sixhorses, that was my initial impression also, that it was photoshopped, but I'm not sure... something is certainly off!! :) Or at least I hope something other than his conformation is off! ;)

Rachel, I haven't really made any decisions about horse ownership at this point... so I can't say for sure.

Its something I've been waffling back and forth on. I'm starting to wonder if I had horses at home if I would ever ride. It would be a real shame to go to all the work and expense of fencing and building shelters if I'd never ride. We only have 6 acres, though we are bordered by an unused property that's about 160 acres that I could likely get permission to ride on. Realistically, I fear I wouldn't bother riding alone and I can't really count on my husband riding regularly. If you don't own a truck and trailer (which I wouldn't be able to do for some time) its not like you can easily meet up with others, either.

Recently I've started to wonder that IF I decide to be a horse owner again, would it be better to board somewhere... somewhere where there are other people that ride regularly, etc. But I also remember how much I disliked boarding in the past... twas always stressful.

Its a big step and I want to consider all the outcomes... perhaps I'm over thinking it all and being overly cautious... dunno... I'm just pretty damned sure I don't want to do all the work and spend all the $ to find out having horses at home is NOT what I want after all.

GP ... a long, miserable winter leads to too much thinking! ;)

Board first and when you are thoroughly disgusted with the barn drama... bring him/her home!! ;)

The Eastern Ontario Enablers Club is behind you GP! I know a drama free barn not too far from you. Only one boarder, and she's awesome! LOL

Heehee...I ride my boarded horse MUCH more than the ones at home.

Oo.... thats a sway! Looks to be real, the third pic gives you an indication of the depth of his back as well.

But he is super cute and quite likely very bombproof!! The swayback will just help you to stay on him :) :)

Luckily, I'm not actually horse shopping ;)

FI, if I did that, can you imagine the scramble to put up fencing then? ;)

Alimom, the one boarder is awesome, but would she ride with me? haha :)

Saving Grace, you have both horses at home AND boarded? Gah! And a baby and a job? Man, I'm exhausted just thinking about that!!! ;) And looking closer at that 3rd pic, you're right, I think he does have quite the sway... maybe there's "nothing" wrong with the 2nd pic.

I used to ride a VERY sway back Arab, years ago... very sweet, never seemed to be bothered by being ridden, though, in order to saddle him, you did have to build his back up flattish in order for it to work. I did sit on him bareback a few times and it was like being locked right in, I don't think I could've fallen off if I tried... hmm, maybe a sway isn't such a bad idea!!

GP who has no desire to hit the ground!

Heehee, as long as the weight is not excessive, there is no reason a horse with a sway can't be useful! :) There was a GP dressage horse who was significantly swayed... big sucker, about 18hh...

Yeah... my QH I got in the fall is a show horse extraordinaire, so he needed his pampering. He just won't cut it being a Muskoka Boy quite yet. ;) Hence he gets boarded out and I get to still ride with an arena heehee.
