On and Off Blizzard!

We are getting on and off blizzard like conditions here... as in I can't see my van from the back door and its only 25-30 ft away. About an hour ago, I went and locked the goats up... then about half an hour ago, the sun was ok so I let them back out. (They are extremely cranky these days with the crappy weather, so I've been trying to let them be out as much as possible.) Now its blizzarding again... I can't see much looking out any of the windows, just the one very large tree that's about 10 ft from the kitchen window and its mostly a shadow.

I'm feeling guilty for not running back out to lock up the goats. :( They can get into the shed and out of the worst of it... plus they have another little shelter just outside the door, but I still worry.

Huge scary wind... no visibility... my favourites. :( :eye-roll:

Anyone else getting this insanity?????

Yes!! Just drove to Fergus and back and saw several nasty accidents, and a lot of white outs. I'm in for good now.

oh it was crazy white outs, even in town. Today I learned steering into the direction of the slide really does work, as hard as it was to make myself do. Hate that feeling :(

Brutal drive both to and from school today. The roads were in good shape but the gusting winds reduced visibility to almost nil for a few seconds at a time. I was following a garbage truck with all it's blinking lights and it completely disappeared time and time again. I find myself disoriented when the wind/snow swirls like that. Yard duty was really fun too. The kids and I were holding hands and walking in a big group backwards into the wind! :) 15 minutes felt VERY long.
I was very happy to find that my snow plough fellow had been there as I came home. What a relief not to have to think about that job. I mucked stalls and the back deck and that was ENOUGH being outside. Even the dogs came in and settled very quickly.
Although they are talking about 70 km winds tonight, it seems to have settled down considerably. I've brought the horses in anyway, with lots of bedding and hay, and they too came in with no fuss.

I really dislike driving in this kind of weather... SCARY. I wish I was independently wealthy.
