Once again I've been "given the oppertunitly" to try and find a neighbouring equine a good home before she lands in what could be a less than...

Poor little lady is without a name and I got the call that she is headed to olex the next time owners head that direction. I took her dam in this past fall when upon weaning she was being shipped because her heaves had gotten so bad. Happy to report "Ruby" is all fixed up and I'm working with her to hopefully get her going under saddle soon. Owners have now come to the conclusion that filly foal is not needed and "too wild" so she needs to go too...(don't even get me started) She is cute as a button, is now wearing a halter and comes into a stall when the weather is real nasty but other than that is basically unhandled, hence her being wild. I'm confident that with just a couple weeks of a kind hand and consistant handling she will be just fine. She was born in the spring but I'm not exactly sure when (guessing May) Both parents are 12-12.2hh and just adorable. Ruby is welsh and daddy was a multiple champion hackney pony at the royal and all over North America (Is now a teaser at a large TB breeding farm). Yes, this was a planned breeding - why on earth I do not know. What I do know is this sweet little girl deserves better than she is being offered and if I had 10 min to spare in my day I would take her but I just do not. Currently have 8 here, 3 of which need work/rehab on a daily basis, full time job, 2 little kids.... Anyone interested please shoot me an e-mail at jaredoverland at yahoo dot com. She's located in Rockwood just down the road from me and is free for the taking but time is not unlimited. I have a pic from the fall that gives a good indication of her absolute cuteness :) Thanks gang :)

I've put the word out...an unhandled filly will not be easy to find a home for. One of us needs a bigger farm!!

LOL! I have a big farm, I just don't want to be one of "those" people with a bazillion horses. So, I keep the numbers small... ;)

I will put out the information and hopefully something comes up for this little girl!

Thanks all. Pic's sent Noodle. I agree 100% that the lack of handling is not in her favor but the fact that she is still young and never "mishandled" is in her favor. She just needs time spent with and to be won over and let known that people are not scary ;)

In the event that her time does run out, I can take her and put her with my Georgetown babies here at the barn. I'm not looking for anymore horses either, but if she stands a chance of being trained and then moving on to a successful life, I will take the chance. My Georgetown babies are doing well and all of them can be handled now, so perhaps being in with them would give her the confidence to move forward. I also have Bear, a feedlot rescue, who is younger than a year and is a pet. He might like to have a room mate who isn't much older and won't boss him around so much.

I'm getting to close to foal time here right now, and Jewely has little one eyed Pony Mamma as here pony, and the her wee filly foal that Thunder and Jimmy ran to safety is here as well, so no ponies needed here, will ask around though .

Thrilled to report that filly went off to a new home in Orangeville this morning! She marched right into the trailer without hesitation. I think she was looking for some adventure :) I've had such a responce after posting on emg....I'm considering letting her momma who I have go to another potential great home. Happy Easter everyone!
